CONTAINER DIMENSIONS


The external dimensions of the containers, width, length, maximum mass are defined to make the most multimodal container offering maximum possible volume. It must be able to go anywhere, it can be transported either by road, rail or ship. It must therefore be integrated into road and rail gauges. Two lengths were defined 20 feet (exactly 19 feet 10.5 inches (6.06 m) and 40 feet (12.19 m) wide 8 feet (2.44 m), two heights 8 feet 6 inches (2 59 m) and 9 feet 6 inches (2.89 m) maximum mass:. 30.480 tons.

Carrying capacity can be raised by entering the container by senior ISO corners: 20 feet, 24 or 28 tons - 40 feet: 26 tons.
